12 days – Experience the wonderful Paro Tsechu, the greatest and most important festival of Bhutan. Enjoy masked dances and storytelling and celebrations where local people dress in their finest and gather from all over Bhutan to socialise and celebrate and feast in Paro. This is a wonderful opportunity to join in the celebrations and enjoy the local culture and customs of this beautiful Kingdom. Arriving before the festival we begin with an introduction to the beautiful Paro Valley including a visit to famous Taktsang Monastery also known as Tiger’s Nest. From here we continue on to the capital Thimphu and further to Gangtey the start point for your short but very scenic trek. This is one of the finest low level treks in Bhutan and a great option in Spring with all the flowers in bloom. After your trek we return to Paro in time to join the festival celebrations before the scenic flight back to Kathmandu where your journey ends.

trek ranks as one of Bhutan’s finest. The route offers
fantastic mountain views at close range including Mt Gangchey
Ta, also known as Tiger Mountain and mother of the female
river flowing through Punakha Valley and renowned for its
diversity of flora and fauna. Visit numerous isolated Dzongs
and scattered settlements, including the outlandish village
of Laya with its own unique culture and practices. Though
remote, the Laya region is known for the hospitality
of its people and you’ll receive a warm welcome. Your
trek takes you over high Himalayan passes and over local trading
routes. Enjoy a relaxing hot dip at the
Gasa Tshachu (hot spring) then on to Goen Damji where your

of mountains which separates the two districts of Paro and
Thimpu. This is an excellent choice for anyone wanting to experience

route takes you through Phopjikha Valley, at 3000m, one of
the few glacial valleys in Bhutan. Explore Gangtey, a beautiful
place and chosen home of the rare and protected Black Necked
Cranes which migrate here during winter from the Tibetan
plateau. Visit Gantey Gompa, the only Nyingmapa Monastery
